Clip Chart

When I entered my first year teaching last year ('10-'11) I knew I wanted a strong classroom management system and knew I could probably handle the kiddos without anything too structured, but turned to Google just to see what was out there, if anything.

I stumbled upon what appeared to be a fantastic system that could really work with my precious group of first graders. Forever I have seen systems where the student can be punished but not as easily rewarded for postive and encouraging behavior in the classroom. This is called the Clip Chart and has a free e-book explaining the system, including print outs you can send home with parents so they can be informed of it as well. The best thing is, the e-book is free and if you have construction paper and access to a printer and laminator in your school then you can create your own for f-r-e-e.

Below is the one I made myself and proudly displayed in my classroom last year. I loved it and my students responded ridiculously well to this system!
